I am very new to knitting. (I can knit and purl; have mastered one scarf ~ but cannot yet read patterns. Much to learn!) I have been looking for a pattern for a stocking cap like Schwartz wore from "A Christmas Story". After much googling, I found your image! Your elf hats are just the type of hat I was hunting! Could you please tell me where you got the pattern?
Thank you so much!

[...] One of my other hobbies is the band Barenaked Ladies. I’ve seen them in concert many times and have travelled far and wide making many friends doing so. Sometimes, I knit special garb just for the shows. Last winter, I made Elf Attire for their holiday shows. And I did something extra special for their New Year’s Eve 2005 Show.
