Double whammy
Today I’ll show you two big things.
First, I finished the Ballet Cami:

Just in time to pack it away for winter. But it’s done and I wore it.
Also, I finished the principal knitting on the shawl for my grandma:

Here’s a close-up:

What you can’t see in the draped-on-the-fence shot is the shape. It’s not a triangle, really. The center is pretty long. I’m not sure whether it will block out or not. Also, because I’m not in the shot, you can’t see that it’s HUGE. 11 skeins of KPPPM will do that. So, I have to decide how to finish it. I think I want to put fringe at the ends of the cables, so that they grow out of it. And I’m just gonna deal with the shape for this one. Way too much work to try to re-work it.
However, before I write it up for pattern, I have to think about what to do. More decreases at the center? I’ve thought of putting a braid up the center too, might that solve it? And maybe I work it in a lighter weight yarn. Would the cables show up nicely in a lace weight? All good questions. Questions that will ferment while I finish up a few other things.

I really like the way the shawl has cables and dropped stitches! I can’t tell by the upper shot what shape the shawl is though. Your cami looks great on you and what a great color!
that came out simply wonderful - I love the cables - a great twist on something that has been done the “traditional” way so many times!
Are the two big things you’re showing us all in the ballet cami photo? Because that top certainly enhances your assets. (I know her, people.) Nevertheless, you can erase this comment.
Still thinkin’ of you, sweetcheeks.
The shawl is beautiful! I am so impressed with your pattern making skills
The cami turned out great! And the shawl is wonderful - can you get past it not being a triangle?
You pick such pretty colors. I like that cami.
That shawl is the bomb. The colors are beautiful.
I had been thinking about a pattern like that.
What I was thinking about was using much smaller
needles (on that middle cable) to make the cable have to “grow” into the pattern going up the middle cable of the triangle.
Awesome shawl! Lucky grandma.
i LOVE it!!! please share the pattern - it really livens up clapotis.
First of all - thank you for sharing your notes and the process you went through making your 3 Clapotis - or is it now with 3 - Clapotii? Anyhow - I appreciate it - and it helped me with mine!!
And then - what a beautiful shawl for your grandmother!!! Simply gorgeous!!!! Please consider posting or selling the pattern!!! It’s just really pretty!! Too pretty to keep to oneself - (I say selfishly!!)
Blessings!
holy moley! a cabled clapotis! gorgeous!!
