Project Notes » Clapotis (Lakeview)

Overview

This is my second Clapotis. The project notes for my first one are very thorough and contain lots of tips.

This one is for my sister-in-law, Sarah. She has a baby, so I choose Shepherd Worsted so that she could wash it easily if needed. This one differs from the first one in that I’m not purling the dropped stitches but actually using markers. I’m also mirroring the twists of the stitches on either side of the ladder. After all the swatches I did while working the first one, I decided I liked these techniques best. I’m also alternating between two balls of yarn to minimize the pooling. That’s having mixed results.

Before I started this one, I designed and made a couple of matching caps. I made the caps before their matching scarves so that I could use the remaining yarn entirely to make the scarf. That worked well.

After starting this one, I got stalled for various reasons, but I picked it up in December and finished it for a Christmas present. It was very well received, and my niece, Gracie, wore the hat around.
